Dear Mr Barritt,

Thank you for your letter of the 28th November 2000, expressing considerable concern for the welfare of the red double deckers that have been relocated from Stagecoach East London recently.

I hope you will accept my personal assurance that these vehicles have not suffered from the 'serious psychological effects' that you envisaged. In fact they relish the challenge of their new environment, and have taken all attempts by the council to capture them via the 'digging of large holes in front of them' or by the use of rising bollards completely in their stride.

However, we do acknowledge that they appear to have experienced a mild identity crisis, and to this end we have arranged from them to be repainted in our new livery early in the New Year.

Meanwhile we would like to express our thanks to you and your fellow students for your concern for our dependent vehicles and wish you all a happy festive season.

Yours sincerely,

Philip Norwell
Commercial Manager
