Minutes of the Elevenses Meeting & EGM of the Pembroke College Winnie-the-Pooh Society. In which we hold an election, and Ben's room becomes a tightly packed place.

Held in B3, Pembroke College, 17th October 1998

Present: Anthony, Tony, Jennifer, Jenny, Jeremy, Ben, Alison, Andrew, Martin, James, Kadia, Belinda, Gabriel, Yasmin, Claire, Chris,

  1. Andrew opens the meeting as Ben is not to be found. He is swimming with Becky, it seems.

  2. Yasmin distributes her donuts, and Belinda reads the minutes.

  3. Ben finally arrives, amd is censured for being late. Leering over Becky is no reason to be late for PoohSoc.

  4. We vote to allow the visitors to vote in the meeting.

  5. Henry's copy of the play AA Milne wrote about Split Infinitives is found, but we don't read it.

  6. We discover that we have managed to read the minutes in under 15 minutes! Well done Belinda!

  7. The following people pay up, and are added to the mailing list where neccessary....

  8. Andrew's mum is congratulated for sending Hull Fair brandy snap.

  9. Ben has recieved a letter requesting permission to copy his letter to The Times in a book review magazine. We decide to grant permission.

  10. Ben plays a tape of his interview with BBC Radio Cambridgeshire. There is wonderous, raptuous applause, from everyone except Jeremy.

  11. Another example of mail sent to Jon at Selwyn Gardens is passed around. It's a Viagra order form.

  12. The elections are held, in their traditional manner, with skipping round First Court and an un-minuted vote. Tony somehow stands for election to the post of Foreign Secretary he so recently resigned. He husts with a spectacular speech, then realises why we are holding the election in the first place...

  14. Ben's bottom beeps.

  15. "I can't do Roo physically, but I can do him orally" says Alison. We won't speculate further, but Jeremy looks happy.

  16. Mike, a thesp-type from another college appears. After accusing the secretary of being normal, he runs away. Quickly. Very quickly.

  17. We vote unanimously to change clause III of the constitution. the changes will be added here when I can get at the contitution to do it.

  18. The reading - "In which Tigger is unbounced"

  19. Jennifer is created Rabbit-in-Residence. Under-rabbit would be too cruel, and might make Vicky C too jealous.

  20. Next week's meeting will be in BB6, Anthony's room.

  21. The vote to close is passed.
