Minutes of the Elevenses Meeting of the Pembroke College Winnie-the-Pooh Society held in R4 at 4pm on Saturday 5th December 1998
"A Lovely Cosy Meeting."
Present: Jon, Jeremy, Yasmin, Chris, Belinda, Anthony, Richard, Kirsten, Neil, Michael, Andrew (with Pooh socks), Helen
Apologies: Jenny, Ben, Claire, Vicky (though they needn't have bothered, as we are extra-constitutional)
- Andrew again opens the meeting.
- Jon arrives, with provisions. He had to stop and watch 2 people playing with their very large digeridoos. Maybe this explains the recent prolonged absence of James.
- Kenya or Ceylon? A vote in favour of Ceylon is passed.
- Anthony reads the somewhat surreal minutes from last week.
- We somehow vote that "Claire-who-is-not-quite-as-scary-as-scary-Claire-but-who-is-still-pretty-damn-scary" Boothby is not that scary.
- Apparently "Granny is a growing boy". (There you go Jenny, I need to eat lots of biscuits... (unless you get there first and eat them all!))
- Jenny and Jon arrived separately, from opposite directions, last week. Would we start rumours?
- We all like Joy. Somehow this motion gets seconded, then amazingly it is passed. Maybe they mean that Northern Irish girl...
- Yasmin reads aloud a letter from Claire-with-an-I-and-an-E.
- We love Claire:
proposed Michael
seconded Kirsten
thirded Yasmin
fourthed Jon
fifthed Anthony
sixthed Andrew
seventhed Chris
eigthed Richard
ninethed Belinda
Jeremy abstained
motion passed.
- Are we going to vote on, er, um? Well, it doesn't look like it.
- A snowy sort of reading is suggested. We read the one about the woozle hunt - In which Pooh and Piglet go hunting and nearly catch a Woozle.
- Helen arrives.
- There is some maricious lumor mongering.
- A minute of mourning for Jon's scarf, nicked from Queens' bar.
- We decide to stare at Anthony and Belinda until they stop....
- We vote to close and just sit around a bit. next week's meeting will be at 51 Madingley Road.
