During the run up to General Elections the society has been known to use a game of Overland Poohsticks to aid its members in deciding which candidate to vote for.
A member of the society (usually the Captain of Poohsticks) writes to the leaders of the main parties explaining the situation and asking for them to send us a poohstick.
The replies are then displayed (and letters read), at Elevenses Meetings, to the whole society.
The quality/speed of these responses may well effect the way society members vote.
